
Kristen Anne Bell (born July 18th, 1980)[1] is an American actor and singer from the United States. When she began her acting career as a stage actress in the Tisch School of the Arts, New York University, Bell made her Broadway stage debut in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. She also appeared in the Broadway revival of The Crucible the year after. In the following year, she was a part of the action-thriller Spartan (2004). The film was also recognized for her performance as Becky thatcher in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. The following year she made her Broadway debut for a revival of The Crucible. The part she was playing in the 2014 movie was changed and revived for the year 2019. Bell played the lead in the musical Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical (2005) as Mary Lane. This was an opportunity to reprise her role from her New York musical. Bell was also on the stage in Heroes, the drama about superheroes in which she played Elle Bishop, from 2007 through in 2008. Bell played the role of Narrator of the title for the series for teens called Gossip Girl. The 2021 sequel will see her reprise the role. Bell was also the voice as Jeannie van den Hooven who was the lead female character from Showtime's comedy series House of Lies. Bell was the main character in the role of Eleanor Shellstrop on the critically acclaimed NBC comedy series The Good Place, receiving a Golden Globe Award nomination for her performance.
